hammered linx necklace
Years ago, while visiting a friend in Pittsburgh, I stopped at a bead shop, my first ever to visit! It was amazing and I wanted to leave with all the things. Funds certainly prohibited that so I left with this chain. It was expensive 20 years ago and would be even more expensive now. I only bought ~14" and I'm kicking myself for not buying more. I don't know what my original intentions were...maybe a bracelet, maybe some earrings...I'm not sure. I've kept this chain all this time perhaps because I didn't know the best way to use it or perhaps as a reminder of my fascination before my jewelry making journey began.
When it was finally time to use it, I honored the chain as what it was, a beautifully textured, large link, sterling silver chain. I chose not to add any beads, but rather leave it in the form that spoke to me all those years ago. I hope it speaks to you, too.
- length ~16" however, this fits more like a choker because of how the links lay
- each link is .75" x .25"
- sterling silver
- rhodium toggle clasp
